I met Mel at a volleyball open gym while spending a few months in Burnsville, MN, a charming suburb of Minneapolis. Although the weather during my stay was challenging, the city's natural beauty, friendly locals, and numerous recreational opportunities made it a delightful place to live.
Burnsville is named after William Byrne, an early Irish settler who owned a significant portion of the land in the area. The city is known for its gorgeous parks, lakes, and trails, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and Burnsville Performing Arts Center are just two of the city's notable attractions.
One of my fondest memories of Burnsville was spending an entire day at the massive Mall of America, which includes an aquarium and a rollercoaster. It's one of the largest malls in the country and a must-visit attraction for any traveler to the area.
